Read MoreOur work is, well, perhaps eclectic is a good word. Robert is a sculptor in wood as well as a photographer. Virginia is a photographer with a background in painting who is not as interested in tack-sharp-with-eye-light-images as with making a 'picture'. Robert is an excellent spotter and is quick on the draw with his camera; Virginia can hear a bug walking and loves the research and processing, which makes for a great team.
Our images have appeared in various publications including Nature's Best Photography Magazine, BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, National Wildlife, National Geographic Magazine (USA) and on the cover of National Geographic Magazine (Europe, Scandinavia and South America and the inaugural issue in Russia); on exhibit at the National History Museum (London) and in permanent exhibitions at the Fish Creek Bear Viewing Site in Alaska ( http://www.fishcreek.org) and in numerous wildlife refuges in the US. Book credits include Light on the Earth-Two Decades of Winning Images, National Geographic Magazine's 100 Best Covers, The Backyard Bird Feeder's Bible,National Wildlife and Birdwatchers Digest. One of our images of a Red-legged Frog on Water Clover that was captured in our pond at home was a finalist in a Nature's Best Photography Magazine competition and appears in the 2010 Spring/Summer issue of that publication. Subsequently, an image of Striped Purple Crocuses, which was also captured in our garden, was a finalist in the next competition and it appeared in the Spring/Summer issue in 2011.
After spending over a dozen years living on the road in our motor coach, we recently bought a little home in Washington state and spend part of the year traveling and the remainder enjoying our home and gardens, which have been certified a Backyard Wildlife Habitat.
Please note that all images of animals on our site were captured IN THE WILD, not in captivity, except for some livestock images, which we have captioned 'domestic'.
